2024 Eddyline Sandpiper 12 Review: If It's Easy To Use You'll Use It
Переглядів 6 тис.3 місяці тому
Last week I made my way to Siloam Springs Arkansas to visit the new Eddyline Kayaks facility and do some paddling around NW Arkansas. My first stop was the small dammed section of Sager Creek in Downtown Siloam Springs. I was staying just across the road from the creek and looking at it every morning, so I decided I should jump in my loaner Sandpiper 12 and test it out. A good reminder that it ...

Putting the Stellar S-14 3 Piece Kayak Through It's Paces

After my last video people had concern that there was a small amount of water in the hatches after one hour of paddling. Truth be told I didn't follow Stellars instructions about using Vaseline on the bolts when putting it together. So I decided it was only fair that I follow their instruction and give it another try. I wanted to give this thing a proper shake down and really push it in some ch...

Are any of these Kayak's in the video alright for light creek paddling? The water isn't still but it is very slow moving unless there's been a storm recently, they do rentals which im gonna do a couple of times to get a footing before investing in a kayak of my own, but I wanna know what to look for in buying one, my budget is definitely around $300-400 max though preferably more lik $200-300 so i have some extra for a good paddle

I found the advice about getting out very interesting. I am no longer able to use my sit in kayak because of age. I am no longer flexible enough. A sit on kayak seems ideal for me, and the advice about getting out will be very helpful.

Im looking at the Sandpiper 12 for fly fishing, and wondering if you think it’s possible to stand from one. I’m 5’6” and have pretty good balance, and i like sit inside kayak because they contain my fly line at my feet. Possible, or absolutely no way?

I have a Steller S14 gen 2 mid-volume and find the cockpit already a bit too big for my 5’10” and 175lbs. It’s great for comfort but I always fall out when attempting an Eskimo roll and have a hard time doing self-entry with the high back and rounded hull. A paddle float helped self entry and an added knee brace would probably fix the premature exits. It’s still a great kayak on flat water, but my 2 trips on open water in Perros Guirec Brittany were a little too exciting.

LOL we simply don't get these full array of Stellar models in Australia .. we have zero buying power and the net result is we get one color and a main stream G2 S14 .... sad really. Anyways my G1 S14 runs really well. Love how USA and Canada get all the good stuff with full model selection and the rest of the world get a kick in the pants .. such is life ... enjoy ur sweet boat mate.

Dan, I am so very sorry for you and your big kayak family. You were the best kayak instructor I have ever learned from, way back in Penguin days. About six years ago I had a bad concussion. A year in bed. A year on a recliner and from there relearning everything. Yesterday I talked with a friend about being ready to kayak again. I told them I would UA-cam “How to kayak.” You were the second video to pop up. I remember you. I’ve been watching your videos all afternoon. Then I came to this one. You are the reason I stopped kayaking with my family. You taught us to be smart and safe on the water first. I’m praying for you all and hoping if I get to a place where I can take lessons again, Headwaters will be my go too.

I love my ORU. This is my 3rd year and I use it all the time in rivers and lakes. I've had the Inlet with a few modifications to improve comfort and performance which I do for pretty much everything. It's absolutely perfect. The inlet weighs only 20 lbs which is prefect with me weighing only 110. I get far more use out of this than I do my hard shell which I just have located at small lake house.

Wow. 5 years ago, I bought the same Blade 9 as my first kayak because of this video. I still have it, and take it out on The Mississippi every weekend. At 5'4 and about 250, my short fat ass has never had an issue. The only time I've tipped, was when I was leaned too far cutting a blue heron free that got tangled in a bank pole catfishing line.

I have had some nice kayaks in the past. Currently paddling a 17 ft aluminum SmokerCraft canoe. I purchased a 2010 Tarpon 140 years ago and it came with a Wave 2 piece paddle. I no longer have the Tarpon but still use the paddle. After the Tarpon I had a NuCanoe flint. No longer have the Flint. Going from the Tarpon to the Flint, the Flint felt like a barge. I am a smaller guy at 5 ft 7 and 135 pounds. I am debating between the Tamarack Pro or the Lifetime Tioga. I get paid on Wednesday and will be getting one of them. I live 3 minutes from the canoe/kayak launch. Should I get a different paddle or will the Wave pair well with either choice?

I am a 5 foot tall women and its comfortable but would love a bit more comfort… I am looking at upgrading to a Joyride 10, but is there anything else around that price point that should be under consideration for me. I am not a fisher, not looking to go camping, just want a little float with the family.

Something narrower would serve you so much better. No sense dragging around a wide kayak if you’re only 5’ tall. Maybe a Feelfree Aventura 110 or a Eddyline Rio if you could find it used.

Hi! Do you know how the meterial compares to the Aquaglide Deschutes series ? The Deschutes doesn’t have a dropstitch floor but you can cut styrofoam to fit in it even though it has a Thwart. (I do have a Dechutes 110 and it has been very good for the last 4 summers and It should be fine this year too.)
